Publix to stop doubling coupons on December 22 (except in Huntsville?)

UPDATE:  It looks like North Alabama (Huntsville, etc.) is considered part of the Nashville market which is NOT ending double coupons (at this time).

"After much consideration, we’ve decided to discontinue our policy of doubling coupons, effective December 22. We’ve found that we are able to pass along greater savings to a wider range of customers through other promotional offerings and pricing strategies, such as our Digital Coupons program and weekly BOGOs. We apologize for any inconvenience during this change."

"The only locations that will continue to double coupon in Alabama will be in the Huntsville area. I suggest speaking with your local Store Manager to see if your Publix is effected by this change."

I don't know how far the "Huntsville" area extends -- whether to The Shoals or Decatur or just Huntsville metro.  Birmingham area will stop doubling.  I sent a message asking for clarification -- hopefully we'll know more soon!
